As I was checking up on the news via CNN, I noticed that apparently a 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit Cuba. What's with the surge of earthquakes lately?!
1/03 - 6.6 & 7.1 in Solomon Islands
1/05 - 6.8 in Solomon Islands
1/12 - 7.0 in Haiti
2/26 - 7.0 in Japan (Ryukyu Islands near Taiwan)
2/27 - 8.8 in Chile
3/16 - 4.4 in LA county

After browsing that site (the source above), I guess earthquakes are pretty common, even if they're > 6.0 magnitude. But still.. the recent media attention has made it all seem pretty scary. I guess it's their job to sensationalize a bit...?
