I'm such an introvert! I overthink things and overcalculate. I need to be more confident. Gahhh..

Anxious
Why am I such a worry-wart? I always worry.. For example, I'm really nervous for my first actual wet lab tonight. I'm anxious not just because this class is known to be tough, but because I need to work with a partner.. and I don't know who I'll be working with..

I'm not your typical girl.
Not just me, but most of my friends just don't seem to fit the mold that we see so often in the media and just on the streets of suburbia. I was reading a blog about nail polish and whether or not dark colors would be okay to use during the summer months. A lot of people gave their input, and I realized that.. I must be a freak for not using nail polish!!
Okay, I did get my first (and only) manicure last year for Sadies, but that was probably the only time I intentionally allowed nail polish to touch my nails. Even during the manicure session, I worried as the first many chemical coatings were applied: would my nails be okay? Would the chemicals leech into my nails, and possibly even into my flesh?? But I wasn't always this way. As a child, my mom would apply some nail polish on my nails for me, and I thought it was all good fun. A few years later I also developed a nasty nail-biting habit. (Thankfully that went away once I got braces.) Nowadays I just feel like applying nail polish would be incredibly damaging. My nails are smooth and healthy-looking; I don't want to screw them over with icky polish!
(Before writing this post, I wondered if my fears were actually realistic. While looking for evidence, I found a site that discusses what to do to take care of your nails: http://www.nail-care-tips.com/nail-care.php)
I think my aversion to nail-decoration is related to how I dislike drawing/writing on my skin. A lot of people do this, guys and girls. I just never liked it.. What doesn't fit is the fact that I got my ears pierced in 4th grade. Aha..
Yep, this was a random (poorly-written) post.

Week 1
My first week of summer school has come to an end! (Yay, no classes on Friday!) I haven't done much today except watch my new TW drama called P.S. Man. Sometimes I wish I weren't so shy. Actually, I always don't want to be my introverted self. I've been locked up in my room (voluntarily) watching videos, surfing internet, etc. I should go out and meet people! Well, going out with Jenny on our walks has been pretty eventful, since something interesting always seems to happen when we go out! The first time we went on a walk, we ended up at a really cool gymnastics gym with trampolines and balance beams and moreee! We chatted it up with new international students the second time. :o
BUT I did manage to make a new friend! (Kind of..) We worked on our lab worksheet together and exchanged numbers. Too bad I don't actually sit near her.. I wonder if I'd get to work on labs with her. The people I sit by seem to have already formed friendships, so I don't want to butt in..
I also cooked dinner with Jenny about 2 nights ago, and it was quite epic. I took pics, but I'm having issues getting them onto my computer, unfortunately.
Tomorrow I'll be going to 99 Ranch, so I have to leave the apartment at 8:40 am! Oh dear, and I need to shower in the morning as well.. Then at 4 there's going to be a floor reunion/John's birthday! (Which reminds me that I need to get him something.. hmm.. Granny smith apples?)

Don't Forget..
So I haven't posted in a while. Actually, I haven't been keeping records of my life at all since I've come back home - I didn't unpack my diary! (I'm such a sloth.. seriously..) But anyway, I have loads of stuff that I suddenly need to do now since I'm starting summer school next week! So here's my list:
- Accept finaid for summer school. CARS BILL..
- Figure out if I still have work study for the rest of this year. If so, find a job ASAP. If not.. find a job/volunteer/research (haha..).
- Collect quarters for laundry this summer. (Learn how to handwash??)
- Buy textbooks (oops) and don't forget to study early on!
- Maybe pack a few books to read for fun..
- Finish making mom's videos.
- Figure out rebate stuff for contacts and phones..
- Write and send out letters!! (Sorry guys..)
- Since I'm moving in Saturday evening.. find out if I can get keys somehow.. -_-
- Finish packing: study materials, food, clothes, Munchkin Quest?
